Helmet ton - Tonna galea - polished

Large gastropod mollusc with globular shell. The whorls are not well defined and the last one almost envelopes the previous spirals. Light brown with a few dark marks. Found on detrital and rocky beds from 15 – 40 meters deep. Maximum size 25 centimeters.
