Kalkara - Fort St. Rocco - Hiding behind a fence

The construction of Fort Saint Rocco started about 1872 by the British, as part of a program of improvements to Maltas fortifications. The fort has undergone several upgrades and modifications until the military left fort Saint Rocco in 1950. The fort is located close to SmartCity Malta, a technology park. It is currently (March 2023) completely blocked off by a fence and a security guard denying any access.

The falling buildings on top of the fort belong to the former Rinella Movie Park which is build into fort Saint Rocco and being abandoned since the end of 2000.
