Common Octopus - Octopus vulgaris Cephalopod mollusc belonging to the Octopod order. Easily recognised by it's large, globular head which is distinct from the rest of the body, formed by eight tentacles with double rows of suckers. Colouring is variable due to its mimetic abilities. Found on rocky or detrital beds with crevices, from a few meters to over 100. Maximum size 60 centimetres.
