Sea potato - Halocinthya papillosa - In the spot light

One of the common ascidians, shaped like a little barrel from which the mouth and cloacal siphons emerge. Its tunic is rough to the touch. Red and yellow or white. Found on rocky bottoms and amongst Neptune grass from 10 - 15 meters to over 100 meters. Maximum size up to 12 centimeters.
