Pilchard - Sardina pilchardus - Oval-sectioned, tapering body. Ventral profile has a series of small protruding toothed scales. Greenish back, golden white sides with dark marks. A pelagic and coastal fish living in shoals, from 10 - 15 meters down to 180 meters. Maximum size 25 centimeters.
