Sweetlips

Sweetlips – Fleshy-Lipped Reef Fish

Sweetlips are easily recognized by their large, fleshy lips and are typically found in coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific. They often live in small groups or pairs and may associate with other reef fish species, with several types of sweetlips sometimes swimming together. During the day, they gather in clusters in reef crevices, under ledges, or near coral formations, while at night they leave their shelters to feed on invertebrates such as bristleworms, shrimps, and small crabs. Their striking appearance and behavior make them popular subjects in underwater photography.
