How the Sales System Works

Selling your photos on Photo and Crochet is straightforward and designed to make the process simple for contributors.

Once your images have been approved and are placed in one of your public albums, they become visible to visitors and available for licensing.

What Is Actually Being Sold?

Photo and Crochet does not sell ownership of your photograph.

Instead, customers purchase a licensed download that grants them the right to use your image for a specific purpose, depending on the license they select during checkout.

The available license types may include different usage rights, such as editorial, non-profit, or commercial use, depending on the current licensing options offered on the platform.

How a Sale Happens

The sales process works as follows:

  1. Your image is uploaded and approved by moderation.
  2. You place the image in a public album.
  3. The image becomes visible on the website.
  4. A visitor selects the image and chooses a suitable license.
  5. The customer completes payment through the available checkout process.
  6. Once payment is confirmed, a secure download link is automatically sent to the buyer’s email address.

Your Earnings

When a sale is completed, the amount paid by the buyer is processed automatically.

Your earnings are calculated as:

Sale Price minus Photo and Crochet commission = Your credited earnings

Your share of the sale is credited to your contributor account balance.

Commission and Pricing

Current pricing, available license types, and Photo and Crochet commission rates can be viewed inside your user control panel.

These values may be updated from time to time, so we recommend checking your dashboard regularly for the latest information.

Important Notes

  • Private, draft, pending, or rejected images are not available for licensing.
