Filefish (family Monacanthidae) are a diverse group of tropical to subtropical marine fish, also known as foolfish, leatherjackets, or shingles. Found in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, they are close relatives of triggerfish, pufferfish, and trunkfish.
