HTMS Kut – Artificial Reef Wreck, Pattaya

The Royal Thai Navy scuttled the decommissioned warship HTMS Kut near Koh Larn in Pattaya Bay to create a second artificial reef and marine breeding ground. The project was carried out in honor of the 60th year of His Majesty the King of Thailand’s reign.

Originally built as the USS LSM-338, the vessel was transferred to the Thai Navy in 1962 and renamed HTMS Kut. After more than 60 years of service, the ship was retired and deliberately sunk. Today, the wreck lies slightly north of Koh Sak in about 30 meters of water, serving as a thriving reef and popular dive site.
