A group of Reeves turtles soaking up the sun on a warm rock.
These small-sized reptiles, measuring between 6–9 inches, are known as Reeves turtles. Their carapace features three distinct ridges running from front to back, and their shells range in color from black to tan. They have broken yellow lines along their heads and necks and are more rectangular than round in shape. Diurnal by nature, these friendly turtles thrive with proper care and can live up to 20 years.
