Black Scorpionfish - Guarding the hole

Black Scorpionfish - Scorpaena porcus Stout-shaped body, typical of the scorpionfish. Distinctive large fleshy excrescences above the eyes and a marked socket around them. Blackish-brown with darker blotches. Found on rocky and detrital bottoms and amongst Neptune grass from 3-4 meters to over 100 meters. Maximum size 30 centimeters.
