The lower Scheidegger Waterfall descends over a rugged rock ledge into a quiet pool within the forested Rohrach Gorge.
This photograph shows part of the lower waterfall at the Scheidegger Waterfalls near Scheidegg in Bavaria, Germany. A narrow stream of water drops from an overhanging rock ledge, follows the weathered cliff face and cascades into a shallow pool below. Exposed layers of rock, scattered vegetation and fallen timber reveal the natural character of the protected Rohrach Gorge, where the Rickenbach creates the two principal Scheidegger waterfalls.
