Entrance to the Xemxija Roman Baths showing stone steps, a possible drainage channel, and later-added surrounding walls.
This image shows the entrance area of the Xemxija Roman Baths near St. Paul’s Bay, Malta. Visible are the stone steps leading upward toward the bath complex, together with carved structural details that may once have functioned as a drainage channel for water management. The integration of steps and water-control features reflects the practical engineering typical of Roman bath architecture in the 1st–2nd century AD. The surrounding boundary walls appear to have been added at a later period, likely for structural reinforcement or site protection, distinguishing them from the original Roman masonry.
