Spiny Lobster - Palinurus elephas - Guarding the hole

Large crustacean with convex carapace covered with spines and tubercles. Antennae longer than the body. Dark red with a few white bloches all over the body. White-striped feet. Found on rocky bottoms inside crevices, from 10-15 meters down to 70. Maximum size 50 cm.
