Blennies – Blennioidei
Blennies are small, characterful fish recognized for their elongated bodies, expressive faces, and curious behavior. While the common name “blenny” is applied to several families of perciform fish, the “true blennies” are grouped in the suborder Blennioidei, which includes around 833 species across 130 genera. Found in marine, brackish, and occasionally freshwater habitats, blennies are a delight to photograph – often peeking from crevices or resting on rocky seabeds.
