A spectacular barrage of golden, red, blue and white fireworks fills the night sky above the illuminated Mellieha Parish Church during the Mellieha Feast 2026.
Mellieha Fireworks 2026 light up the night sky above Mellieha, Malta, during the annual Feast of the Nativity of Our Lady, celebrated on 8 September. Fireworks are an essential part of Malta’s traditional village festas, combining elaborate pyrotechnic displays with illuminated churches, decorated streets, religious ceremonies and lively community celebrations. In this photograph, multiple layers of golden, red, blue and white fireworks spread across almost the entire sky, while additional effects rise from the village below. The illuminated Mellieha Parish Church forms a striking landmark in the foreground, surrounded by festive street lighting and the glow of the celebrations. The dense display of overlapping bursts creates a dramatic finale-like atmosphere and captures the scale, colour and energy that make Maltese festa fireworks such a distinctive part of the islands’ cultural traditions.
