Viewed from the roadside, the abandoned multi-storey structure reveals weathered limestone walls, irregular stonework and extensive signs of structural deterioration. Several large arched openings on the lower level have been blocked, while the upper floors retain narrow windows, an arched doorway and a small circular opening. Visible cracks run through sections of the masonry, and portions of the exterior plaster have disappeared, exposing the underlying limestone blocks. To the left, a lower flat-roofed structure stands beside the main building, while wild shrubs, grasses and other Mediterranean vegetation have spread across the surrounding ground. Utility poles, roadside signs and nearby activity provide a striking contrast to the neglected former hotel. The Riviera Martinique Hotel once occupied a prominent coastal location near Għajn Tuffieħa and Golden Bay, an area known for its sandy beaches, rugged cliffs and scenic Mediterranean landscape. According to accounts associated with the property, the hotel was acquired by the Fenech family in 1978 and ceased operating in 1988, although its earlier history remains less clearly documented. Following its closure, the building was left exposed to weathering and progressive deterioration.
