A curious Reeves turtle peeks out of the pond to explore its surroundings.
This image features a small Reeves turtle emerging from the pond with a curious look. These reptiles measure between 6–9 inches and have a carapace marked by three distinct ridges running from front to back. Their shells range in color from black to tan, and their heads and necks are adorned with broken yellow lines. More rectangular than round in shape, these diurnal turtles can live up to 20 years with proper care and diet.
