Stone passage leading to an adjoining chamber inside the Xemxija Roman Baths, Malta.

This image shows the narrow stone passageway connecting interior chambers within the Xemxija Roman Baths near St. Paul’s Bay, Malta. Such corridors formed part of the carefully planned layout typical of Roman bath complexes, allowing movement between rooms of varying temperatures. Dating to the 1st–2nd century AD, the preserved masonry illustrates how Roman builders integrated functional design with the natural rock formations of Malta’s coastline.
