A sweeping view from Burg Neuravensburg across the village and Neuravensburger Weiher toward the green countryside and distant mountain horizon.
From the elevated remains of Burg Neuravensburg, a broad panorama opens across the village, the Neuravensburger Weiher and the gently rolling landscape of the western Allgäu. In this photograph, the houses and streets of Neuravensburg spread across the foreground, while the pond forms a reflective centrepiece surrounded by green meadows, farmland and wooded slopes, with distant mountain ridges completing the horizon. The castle hill has dominated the settlement for centuries and was once the centre of the historic lordship of Neuravensburg. The castle itself probably originated in the first half of the 12th century and is documented from the 13th century onward. Most of the later castle complex was dismantled after 1837, leaving the surviving keep as the village’s best-known historic landmark and viewpoint. Neuravensburg is now part of Wangen im Allgäu, while the Neuravensburger Weiher is another recognized landmark of the locality. Together, the village, pond and surrounding countryside create one of the most characteristic landscape views from the old castle hill.
