The Editorial License with Credit to the Photographer is intended for editorial use where the Licensed Material supports the publication but is not the sole or main subject. This license is suitable for newspapers, magazines, educational publications, blog articles, reports, journals, printed documentation, and similar editorial projects.
This license allows the use of the full-resolution original image without watermark, including in commercial editorial publications, provided that the image is used only within one project and is not the main object of the publication.
A very important condition of this license is appropriate credit. The Licensor’s name or the credit information stated on the invoice must appear adjacent to the image. If no specific wording is given, using “Image by Licensor’s Name” is considered appropriate credit.
You may use this license for:
• newspapers and magazines
• educational books and publications
• blog articles and editorial reports
• printed documentation and journals
• commercial editorial publications where the image supports the content
You may NOT use the image for:
• logos, trademarks, or service marks
• pornographic, defamatory, unlawful, or misleading purposes
• projects where the image itself is the sole or main object for sale or promotion
• any use without proper photographer credit
Copyright always remains with the Licensor. Purchasing this license grants usage rights only and does not transfer ownership of the Licensed Material.
This article is a simplified explanation only. The full legally binding agreement is the license text accepted during purchase together with the invoice. Maltese law applies to all license agreements.
