If you no longer wish to use your Photo and Crochet account, you can request account deletion directly from your user account area.
Please note that the deletion process differs depending on whether your account contains uploaded content.
How to Request Account Deletion
To request deletion of your account:
- log in to your Photo and Crochet account
- click on your username in the top right corner of the top navigation bar
- select Request Delete
- confirm that you really want to delete your account
Once confirmed, the deletion process begins according to your account status.
If Your Account Contains Uploaded Content
If you have uploaded content, your account enters a 2-week holding period.
This holding period exists to allow for:
- pending sales completion
- possible refunds or transaction processing
- final payout calculations
What Happens During the Holding Period
During this time:
- you can still log into your account
- all your public content will automatically be set to private
- uploading new content will be disabled
- creating new content will be blocked
- editing existing content will be disabled
- other account functionality may be restricted
What Happens After the Holding Period
If no completed sales require retention, the following will be permanently deleted without further notice:
- your uploaded content
- generated thumbnails
- resized image versions
- your personal account data
If completed sales exist, certain limited records may be retained for reference, including:
- a resized reference image
- photographer name
- registered email address
- transaction-related records where legally or operationally required
Any remaining eligible payouts will normally be processed within 1 week after the holding period ends.
If Your Account Has No Uploaded Content
If your account does not contain uploaded content, deletion will normally be completed within 48 hours.
Recovering Your Account During the Holding Period
If you change your mind during the 2-week holding period, you can fully restore your account.
To recover your account:
- log in to your account
- go to your dashboard
- find the deletion request notice
- click Recover Account
Your account functionality will immediately be restored.
Restoring Public Visibility for Your Content
Recovered content remains private until you make it public again.
To restore visibility for all your albums and content:
- open Albums from the left navigation menu
- locate your root or top-level user album (the album named after your username)
- select Toggle Visibility
This will restore visibility for the selected album, its subalbums, and contained content according to your account settings.
Important Notes
- Account deletion may be irreversible after the holding period expires.
- Pending financial obligations may delay complete deletion.
- Certain reference records may be retained where required for completed transactions.
- Recovering your account is only possible during the holding period.
